Monday, December 3, 2018, 9:29 PM - The video above shows how powerful the earth can be when it's on the move -- and how potentially deadly.
The house being completely devoured in the aftermath of a landslide in the video once stood in Indonesia's province of East Kalimantan, on the island of Borneo. There's little information online about the incident, but the Jakarta Post described an incident in the same area where the video was shot where a road was consumed along with several homes near a coal mine.
Most of Indonesia's thousands of islands are mountainous, and the country is prone to annual monsoons, leading to numerous landslides, many of which can be deadly.
One of the deadliest in recent years was an incident in 2014 where one landslide killed almost 100 people in Java, the country's most populous island. In October of this year, heavy rains in Sumatra triggered flooding and landslides that killed at least 27 people, including a dozen students whose school was struck.
