Saturday, April 4, 2015, 8:34 AM - After light snow fell across southern Ontario Saturday night, Quebec was in for heavier amounts courtesy of a system moving its way off the U.S. northeast coast. On Sunday, a stationary front is set to bring a wintry mix to southern Ontario.

Ontario
Due to below seasonal conditions for this time of year, a stationary front will bring a messy combination of snow, mixing and freezing precipitation to southern Ontario this weekend.
A swath of precipitation will stretch from Windsor to Sudbury, shifting slightly throughout the day on Sunday.
Snow pushed into southern Ontario Saturday night. Communities around the GTA saw less than 5 cm overnight, but varying temperatures created a messy combination of rain and snow.

By Sunday, a stationary front will bring trace amounts of snow to the area, with the forecast calling for about 2 cm or less.
Hamilton and the Niagara region will likely see mixing and showers, with a risk of freezing rain and ice pellets. Slick road surfaces could impact the Monday morning commute.
Snow continues through Sunday night for the Huron shores, Cottage Country, before reaching eastern Ontario by Monday morning. These regions will see the heaviest amounts of snow, between 10 and 15 cm, followed by light flurries as the system moves out Monday morning.
However, with major differences in temperature between Windsor and Sudbury, the slightest shift in the system will greatly affect snowfall amounts.
Quebec
The cold, active weather gripping eastern Canada took no exception in la belle province.
A week clipper moved in Saturday, bringing snow through central and southern regions of the province. Blowing snow and icy road surfaces set the scene for a number of accidents on major routes on Saturday.
Though snow cleared throughout the afternoon, below seasonal temperatures and slick conditions persisted for the rest of the day.
A trough could spark a few more bouts of snow on Sunday, prompting snow squall watches in Montreal.
