Typhoon Matmo headed for Taiwan and China

Monday, July 21, 2014, 7:42 PM - Typhoon Matmo is gearing up to take a swipe at Taiwan and China, according to meteorologists.
Matmo -- the tenth storm of the 2014 Pacific season -- formed Thursday in the southern Philippine Sea.
On July 21 at 11 a.m. EDT, it had maximum sustained winds of 127 kilometres per hour. It is moving northwest at approximately 20 km/h, prompting Japan's Meteorological Agency to issue a yellow alert for the Okinawa-honto Chiho region.

Matmo is expected to move past Taipei Tuesday, hitting China a few hours later.
The storm comes just days after Typhoon Rammasun tore through parts of China, Vietnam the Philippines leaving, at last count, 150 dead and damaging 26,000 buildings.
