Friday, May 4, 2018, 5:00 PM - In a case of what is definitely a photo looking worse than the actual outcome, sustained winds of 45 km/h and gusts near 100 km/h in Mississauga, Ont., caused several tree branches to snap off Friday afternoon, narrowly missing a school bus full of children.

Police received a call to the scene at 3:27 p.m. ET, alerting to the incident, which occurred on Sayers Road.

There were 72 children between the ages of 7 and 10 on the bus at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported.

The occupants were loaded onto another bus. Sayers Road was closed for the investigation and clean up.

EARLIER: SCHOOL BUS ENDS UP IN A RAVINE

Ontario Provincial Police are assessing whether road conditions were a factor Friday morning after a bus carrying 17 high school students ended up in a ravine in Bolton.

Weather conditions at the time were rainy. Dense fog was also reported in the area at the time of the crash.

The incident happened around 8:15 a.m. on Humber Lea Road between King Street East and Kingsview Drive as the bus failed to make it up a hill and ended up colliding with two vehicles as it slid down an embankment.

According to OPP, no injuries have been reported and the bus will be inspected to determine if there may have been any mechanical failure.
