Environment Canada gets into the Grey Cup spirit

Saturday, November 28, 2015, 5:45 PM - It's the Grey Cup weekend and even Environment Canada is getting excited.

Check out the statement from the weather organization:

A STAMPEDE OF RED, BLACK AND GREYIS HEADING TO WINNIPEG AS FANS DESCEND ON THE PRAIRIE CITY FOR THE 103RD GREY CUP GAME ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2015. USUALLY YOU HAVE TO BRAVE THE COLD LIKE A LIONTHIS TIME OF YEAR IN WINNIPEG, BUT THE WEEK HAS BEEN MILD ENOUGH THAT EVEN A TABBYCAN HANDLE THIS WEATHER. WITH SUNSHINE AND LIGHT WINDS EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND, IT WILL NOT BE  TOO ROUGH A RIDEFOR THOSE THAT ARGOINGTO ATTEND EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE BIG GAME.
THE DAYTIME HIGH FOR SUNDAY IS CURRENTLY FORECAST TO BE NEAR MINUS 2 BY MID AFTERNOON WHICH IS ABOVE NORMAL (-6) FOR WINNIPEG FOR THE END OF NOVEMBER. BY KICK OFF TIME, THE TEMPERATURE IS EXPECTED TO BE AROUND MINUS 5 DROPPING SLOWLY AS THE EVENING PROGRESSES. A SOUTHERLY BREEZE OF 15 TO 20 KM/H IS EXPECTED BY GAME TIME WHICH WILL ADD A SLIGHT CHILL FOR FANS ATTENDING THE GAME. AS A RESULT, A WARM BOMBER JACKETOR ESKIMOATTIRE WOULD SEEM LIKE A GOOD IDEA.
NOT THAT WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE A LOT COLDER AT THIS TIME LAST YEAR. LAST YEAR ON GREY CUP DAY (NOV 30), WINNIPEG HAD A HIGH OF -19 AND A LOW OF -26. WIND CHILL VALUES DROPPED TO -36 DURING THE EVENING. CONSIDERING THE TIME OF YEAR, MOST PEOPLE SHOULD BE HAPPY AS AN ALOUETTE(LARK) COME SUNDAY.

Clearly someone at Environment Canada has a great sense of humour.
