This week, many Ontarians have seen sunshine, blue skies, and warm weather, but forecasts are indicating that Ontario shouldn't celebrate too soon.

Early Wednesday morning an arctic cold front began making its way through southern Ontario, leaving cold air and strong westerly winds in its wake. The winds gusting over Lake Huron and the Georgian Bay will result in the development of snow squalls in the late morning and early afternoon on Wednesday, according to Environment Canada.
Environment Canada adds that when snow squalls occur, they cause weather conditions to vary considerably- changes from clear skies to heavy snow, within just a few kilometres, is a possibility. The squalls may produce snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm per 12 hours.
Snowfall, winter storm, and freeznig rain warnings have also been issued for parts of northern Ontario and western Quebec. Parts of northern Ontario will see temperatures dipping close to -20 C, forecasts say.
