Wednesday, May 18, 2016, 2:52 PM - If the weather has left you scratching your head and wondering what season it is, you aren't alone.
Temperatures have been straying far from historical averages for a few months now across southern Ontario.
It was warm enough to go golfing on Christmas Day this past winter, with daytime highs climbing into the double digits. That's well above Toronto's historical average of 0C for that day.

We had Weather Network meteorologist Kevin Mackay pull some statistics and he was able to confirm what everyone has been thinking: It's been a strange few months for the Toronto area, as far as weather is concerned.
"During the winter, 61% of the days in Toronto experienced above seasonal temperatures," he says.
"So far this spring, only 36% of the days have been above seasonal."
Hope for the long weekend
This week kicked off on a frigid note with cooler mornings accompanied by frost warnings, but temperatures are set to rise to more pleasant values by the long weekend.

"The seasonal temperature for mid June in southern Ontario is around 25°C and some places will likely reach that this coming weekend," says Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham. "We are watching a slow moving system that is expected to track just south of the border during the weekend, which has been a bit close for comfort for areas southwestern Ontario to Niagara."
