Showers, cooler temps ahead for southern Ontario

After a round of thunderstorms Sunday morning, southern Ontario can expect to see round two on Monday. 

Rain is forecast to push into southern Ontario late afternoon Monday in advance of another low pressure system.

Areas between Windsor to Toronto, including the Niagara region, run the risk of seeing showers with embedded thunderstorms Monday evening into Tuesday. 

"Any potentially severe storms would develop along the cold front of this system," says Weather Network meteorologist Brett Soderholm. "After the front passes through, cooler and drier air will drop temperatures for the next few days."

Although the temperatures are forecast to be below seasonal for much of this week -- hovering around the 20 °C mark -- conditions in an around the GTA are still expected to be fair, with significantly less humidity than what the region saw over the weekend.
