Wednesday, October 28, 2015, 11:01 AM - After the remnants of Hurricane Patricia unleashed heavy rain along the Alabama coast, one woman was in for an unpleasant surprise when flood waters in her yard began to recede.

Earlier this week, Whitney Constantine discovered a dead shark in her yard in the city of Mobile.

It seemed to have washed up from a local river after a bad bout of flooding in the area on Monday.

While Constantine has dealt with flooding on her property after heavy rain in the past, she has never seen flooding so severe. At one point, waters were knee-deep around Constantine's home.

Constantine said her husband would most likely bury the shark carcass.

On Monday morning, parts of the Alabama coast woke up wet and windy weather. Heavy rain and damaging winds caused localized flooding and widespread power outages.

Moisture from Patricia tracked across the southwestern United States and was also responsible for messy weather in Texas this week, triggering flash floods and the derailment of a Union Pacific freight train.
