By 6 a.m. local time Vancouver hit 15.1oC, which broke the previous record of 14.8oC set on Nov. 8, 1991. The mercury continued to soar through the day, capping off with a balmy 19.4oC. Meanwhile, Abbotsford hit an astonishing 22.4oC.

While the warmth continues Wednesday, temperatures will cool back to seasonal by the weekend. The South Coast will see a brief break from the rain, until Thursday night when more showers are set to arrive. A widespread 20-30 mm is expected across the Lower Mainland, with less than 15 mm for Vancouver Island.
