Thursday, August 23, 2018, 2:45 PM - A stunning new satellite image from NASA's Worldview Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS), shows a planet consumed by wildfires.

The August 22 image, shows every active fire on the planet, indicated by a red point.

The most concentrated fires are in Africa, where many were likely deliberately set by farmers to better manage their land.
