Thursday, April 16, 2015, 3:11 PM - The selfie phenomenon has officially made it to Google Maps.
Nasr Bitar of Mississauga, Ont., was driving home last autumn when he spotted a Google car and decided it was time for his Street View debut.
"I had never seen one before, and it took me a few minutes to realize that it was the Google car and it was my time to shine," Bitar told PetaPixel.com
He went on a little cruise following the vehicle down a few side streets. Eventually, Bitar drove ahead of the Google car, parked and set up on a boulevard where he expected it to pass by.
As soon as the Street View vehicle was in frame, he snapped a selfie.
Bitar was on Google Maps a few weeks ago when he searched the intersection where he took the selfie. Low and behold, there he was on Street View.
