Friday, June 19, 2015, 4:50 PM - Police in Bellevue, Washington received a call from a Chick-fil-A fast food restaurant Wednesday. A lost beaver had wandered into the parking lot, perhaps in search of chicken.
"The beaver somehow got himself on the sidewalk in front of the entrance to Chick-fil-A and there was lot of traffic there," Amanda Jensen with the Bellevue Police Department told MyNortwest.com.
"He seemed disoriented. They [the restaurant employees] were just concerned about him getting hit."
Officers were able to coax the beaver into a cruiser. They then gave it a ride to a nearby pond.
This isn't the first time a beaver has caused a commotion in a residential area.
In May 2014, an angry beaver stopped traffic in Miramichi, New Brunswick. Officials believe it may have been displaced by flooding.
Should you encounter a beaver, it's best to keep a safe distance.
While they may look cute and cuddly, beavers can be quite aggressive.
In 2013, a booming beaver population led to a rash of attacks on residents in Belarus.
One of the most serious cases occurred when a 60 year-old fisherman attempted to photograph a beaver at Lake Shestakovskoye.
Witnesses say the large rodent bit the man on the leg, severing an artery that caused him to bleed to death.
