Sunday, March 8, 2015, 11:50 AM - It may be the cutest piece of luggage you've ever seen.

Airport officials were taken by surprise when a chihuahua was discovered hiding in a passenger's suitcase at La Guardia Aiport in New York City.

Security personnel found the miniature dog inside of a checked bag.

The owner was unaware that the pet had jumped into the bag at some point before she left for the airport.

The tiny dog's escapades were documented on social media by Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein.

According to Farbstein's tweets, the dog was returned to the owner safely.

The incident is a friendly reminder to travelers to thoroughly inspect their bags before heading out the door.
