Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth hammered by freak storm

Sunday, July 5, 2015, 10:35 AM - Calgary's most famous outdoor extravaganza got a hefty dose of what Prairie skies have to offer in the summer.
The Calgary Stampede, thronged on Saturday, was pelted by marble-sized hail and heavy downpours in the afternoon, sending Stampede-goers scrambling for cover.
The city was at one point included in a severe thunderstorm watch that warned hail, strong winds and heavy rains would be possible, and indeed the storm caused flash flooding on some roads and underpasses in the city's southwest. Some C-Train services were disrupted as well.
