Tuesday, August 9, 2016, 8:30 AM - The right ingredients were there for severe thunderstorms to fire up across the Prairies on Monday. Environment Canada has confirmed that at least two tornadoes touched down in Manitoba with reports of a potential third touch down as well.

Among the hardest hit was Manitoba's Waywayseecappo First Nation where a tornado damaged homes, flipped a school bus and even completely destroyed one house from its foundation. About 50 residents were forced to a nearby hotel and the Canadian Red Cross has activated an emergency plan for those displaced.

As the line of severe storms roared through, heavy rain, damaging winds and moderate hail were reported.
