Wednesday, August 24, 2016, 5:02 PM - It's widely known that many animals find humans to be the most frightening of species, so when a seal willingly leaped onto B.C. boat, its passengers were caught a tad off guard.

The video below was shared by Kirk Fraser. It glimpses at a pod of orca whales on the hunt, closing in on a vulnerable seal.

Fraser was whale watching with his family off the coast of Powell River, B.C., when the hurried seal scrambled onto the stern of his boat.

In an interview with Storyful Newswire, Fraser said the seal slipped off the boat twice but hopped back on, waiting until the orcas gave up before returning to the water.

Fraser was visiting B.C. with his family for his wedding when the eventful escape occurred.
