'Fall's grand finale,' winter-like storm slams parts of Ont.
Digital Reporter
Sunday, November 20, 2016, 2:21 PM - A messy winter-like storm has made for an "early end to fall" in parts of northwestern Ontario, with some areas blanketed by nearly 50 cm of snow.
In the wake of a potent Colorado low, roughly 10,000 customers were left without power throughout northwestern Ontario. A line of freezing rain also heavily impacted the area near Marathon to Hearst, calling for several significant road closures.
Flurries continue to gradually taper off in northwestern Ontario, however, winter conditions are likely to return mid-week with a separate system.

Meanwhile, energy from the Colorado low (coupled with lake-effect snow conditions) has brought an impactful amount of snowfall to southern and eastern Ontario as the system continues to slowly track east. Snowfall and snow squall warnings were issued early Sunday for much of southern Ontario, including the capital city, in advance of the storm.
Here's a visual recap of the storm's wintry trail.
