Mystery behind eerie sounds in Terrace, B.C. solved

Sunday, May 10, 2015, 9:08 AM - Spooky sounds have been recorded in Terrace, B.C., opening up a conversation that was sparked the first time the sounds were observed in the area in 2013.

The footage below was captured by resident Melissa Harris Tuesday.

According to the CBC, Harris was speaking with her husband on her phone when she heard the sounds.

"It was getting louder, so I went to the window and luckily I caught it. It was not even a minute or so. I just stood by my window and taped it. In the moment I had goose bumps on my arm," she told the news agency.

"It just sounded like horns in the sky. I don't know people say trumpets, but to me it was just like a loud kind of eerie."

In 2013, the City of Terrace claimed responsibility for the sound, claiming it was the result of a grader blade.

According to city officials, Tuesday's sound is the result of the same thing.

Looks like the mystery has been solved -- unless you're one of the hundreds online who aren't buying the city's story.
