Drunken wasps are attacking people across Britain

Monday, August 13, 2018, 3:21 PM - A mob of angry bees, drunk off of fermented fruit and discarded beer tent drinks, have been terrorizing people across Great Britain this summer.
British pest control experts say that feeding on leftover booze has made them irritable and more likely to sting humans.

The wasps are turning to beer for sustenance after a harsh UK winter. The cold prompted wasp season to start six weeks earlier than usual, and that allowed them to build giant nests.
“Now that all the larvae have grown up and the queen has stopped laying eggs, the colonies have a workforce with nothing to do – and nothing to eat. So they go down to the pub, obviously,” Shane Jones of Ridtek Pest Control told the Daily Mail.
Experts say the best way to avoid an attack is to keep food sealed when outside and dispose of waste properly.
ONE-YEAR-OLD TWINS WIND UP IN HOSPITAL
A pair of one-year-old twins had to be taken to the hospital after being stung by the wasps in the face earlier this month, Metro reports.
"The kids were not bothered by the wasps buzzing around them but we were wafting them away. But it was like being stalked," Amanda Muller, the twins' mother, told the publication.
"They did not go away, even though you spun around. We moved to another spot but they still came for us."
