Raccoon drops in on crane operator 200 metres in the air

Thursday, April 16, 2015, 6:11 AM - As if the raccoons of Toronto aren`t getting enough attention these days.

The ongoing controversy soared to new heights this week -- more than 200 metres, to be exact.

On Thursday morning, crane operator and avid photographer Robert MacFarlane arrived to his work site near the Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto.

And he was not alone.

A brave raccoon climbed its way up to MacFarlane's perch - 213 metres in the air.

McFarlane managed to take a few quick shots of the furry daredevil before it climbed back down.

This is not the first time the black-eyed critters have been seen at such heights. MacFarlane and his co-workers claim to have seen 'evidence' of raccoons on his crane in the past.

The aerial encounter comes just a week after Toronto Mayor John Tory declared war on the city's population of 'evil geniuses,' and launched a new green bin to thwart their messy, garbage-spewing habits.

MacFarlane is known for sharing incredible photos of the Toronto skyline on Instagram and Twitter.
