Sunday, January 11, 2015, 1:07 PM - If you're looking for some relief from all the cold, there's only one province that can help you get it. Here's a look at your active weather stories for Sunday, January 11.

ATLANTIC CANADA

Cold and fair while next big system makes its move.

  • Newfoundland and Labrador: Westerly winds are promoting a favourable set up for sea-effect snow for western parts of Newfoundland. Snow squall watches and cold warnings were issued by Environment Canada. Snow squall watches are still active in the Avalon Peninsula, Burin Peninsula, and nearby areas but were dropped for Deer Lake, Parson's Pond and Humber Valley. Significant sea-effect squalls are forming this morning from Marystown to St John's, some places could see accumulations up to 10 cm.
  • Next system pushes in Monday, bringing about 5-10 cm of snow for St.John's. "There is still some uncertainty in the track, however, so these amounts are subject to change," cautions Weather Network meteorologist Brett Soderholm.
  • Maritimes: A fair and frigid day expected across the Maritimes Sunday. Next system pushes in on Monday, bringing 2-4 cm of snow for southern New Brunswick, mixing and about 2-4 cm of snow for Nova Scotia, and about 5 cm for PEI. "There is still some uncertainty in the track, however, so these amounts are subject to change," cautions Weather Network meteorologist Brett Soderholm. Be sure to check back regularly for updates.

CANADA LONG RANGE: Pattern changes on the way

ONTARIO

Temperatures slightly warm up today, but won't last very long.

  • Southern Ontario: A few flurries expected Sunday night into Monday morning for southern Ontario, as a system to the south will bring 2-4 cm for much of the region. Coldest day of the week will be on Tuesday, with a preliminary forecast high of -12C in Toronto that day - which is 10C below seasonal. Slight warm up after that.

PRAIRIES

  • Saskatchewan/Manitoba: Cold, still, as high pressure dominates for the next few days. Wind chills a significant concern for Sunday morning in southern Saskatchewan and southern Manitoba, where the temp will feel closer to -40 for the major cities. Significant warm-up coming mid-week, however!
  • Alberta: Variable clouds with below seasonal temperatures expected for southern Alberta. Cold relief coming soon. Click here to see when a big warm up is expected.

BRITISH COLUMBIA

  • B.C.: Drizzle continues for the lower mainland, with temperatures close to seasonal (or slightly above). The province will also be enjoying above seasonal temperatures - which will be in stark contrast to the rest of the country.
  • High pressure will strengthen on Monday but low level moisture could make a sunny day unlikely.
  • Next weekend brings the chance of unsettled weather.
