Canada finally joins Twitter, says hello to the world

Friday, November 28, 2014, 3:26 PM - It's official -- @Canada has joined Twitter -- and it appears to have quite the sense of humour.
We aren't the first country to sign up for an official Twitter account: @Israel , @SouthAfrica , @GreatBritain , and @Sweden are already online.

Canada's account launched Wednesday and in just one day, it racked up more than 61,000 followers.
The Twitterverse appears to be thrilled with the Internet's newest addition:

According to the account, @Canada plans to "act as a shop window for everything that makes Canada the best country in the world."
