Monday, June 1, 2015, 7:00 AM - Ontario is drying out after a soggy weekend, but heavy rain is heading to Quebec and Atlantic Canada next, while the west faces more storm risk.

Here's your Monday weather brief.

Atlantic Canada

  • Newfoundland: Showers reach Newfoundland through the day Wednesday. Frost advisories in effect for most of the island, pointing to Tuesday morning.

Ontario and Quebec

  • Ontario: The weekend brought more than 70 mm of rain to Windsor. Lingering showers Monday morning for Kingston eastward. Clearing skies for everyone by the evening. Temperatures warm back into the 20s by late week, bringing the risk of thunderstorms for the weekend.
  • Quebec: Temperatures in the low-to-mid-teens persist until mid week. Showers expected for Montreal Monday, no more than 20 mm in most places.

Western Canada

  • Prairies: Storm risk in the Alberta foothills, with strong thunderstorms also possible in parts of Manitoba in the afternoon. Rain for parts of Manitoba Monday night into Tuesday, more than 30 mm possible for extreme southern portions.
  • British Columbia: Showers develop late afternoon for the South Coast. Thunderstorms at higher elevations throughout southern B.C. Wednesday may be cloudy with showers, but temperatures rise in the late week, reaching the mid-20s by the weekend, and more than 30oC for parts of the Interior.
