Climate in Bordeaux

Located just a short drive from the Bay of Biscay on the western shores of France, Bordeaux’s temperate climate is characterized by extended cool summers, and brisk, rainy winters.

Precipitation in Bordeaux is regular year round, peaking slightly above 100mm in the winter months, and dipping to 50mm in July and August.

In the summer, air temperatures range from 14°C to 26°C, dropping quickly during the transition into autumn and bottoming out between 3°C and 11°C in the winter months. Overnight frost happens periodically, but snowfall is very rare and only happens on average once every three years.

A constant breeze from the Atlantic Ocean’s westerly winds moves through the city year round.
