Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of north central and northwest New Mexico, including the following areas, in north central New Mexico, Far Northwest Highlands and Northwest Highlands. In northwest New Mexico, Chuska Mountains and Northwest Plateau.
When: From noon MDT today through late tonight.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Additional Details: - Deep monsoon moisture will remain over northwest New Mexico Wednesday, resulting in the development of numerous showers and storms. Stronger storms will have the potential to produce rainfall rates of one to two inches per hour, with some areas receiving multiple rounds of storms. Rapid runoff will likely create flash flooding through normally dry arroyos and other low-lying areas. - http://www.weather.gov/abq/EmergencyPrepFlood

Recommended Action

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flash Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
