Description

The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Iowa Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S affecting Clinton and Scott Counties.
What: Moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S.
When: From Friday morning until further notice.
Impacts: At 12.0 feet, Overbank flooding occurs. Water affects residences along the river between Wheatland and Calamus. Water affects businesses along the river near Calamus.
Additional Details: - At 10:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 9.9 feet. - Recent ActivityNew data indicates a high probability the river will go into flood. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning and continue rising to a crest of 12.2 feet Saturday evening. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. The next statement will be issued by Friday morning.
