What: Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where: Western Alameda County in northern California Western Contra Costa County in northern California Until 1245 AM PST.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Additional Details: - At 924 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Oakland, Fremont, Hayward, Concord, Berkeley, Richmond, San Leandro, Mountain View, Alameda, San Ramon, Pleasanton, Union City, Walnut Creek, Dublin, Newark, Danville, Martinez, Pleasant Hill, San Pablo and Lafayette. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
