VIDEO: Hurricane Odile tears through hotel lobby

Saturday, October 25, 2014, 8:29 AM - Take a look at the dramatic images captured from a hotel lobby in Cabo San Lucas.

The footage was taken back in September when Hurricane Odile struck the Baja California Sur region of Mexico.

The video captures the exact moments the eye of Odile had passed over the area, as the back end of the hurricane begins to whip Cabo. The hotel security cam shows surprised people inside the lobby as the wind quickly starts up again with great strength.

Odile was one of the worst hurricanes to hit the area, with at least 15 deaths directly or indirectly caused by the system. In Mexico, about 240,000 people were left without power and all flights into and out of the peninsula had to be cancelled.

In the aftermath of Odile, martial law was declared for the zone after reports of violence and looting began to emerge.

At least 300 Canadians were caught in the Los Cabos area when the storm struck and more than 200 were flown out ahead of Odile.
