A YouTube video by nature photographer Rod Kirkpatrick has gone viral, racking in more than 1.5 million views in just two days' time.

Storm force winds tore through the Derbyshire district in the UK recently, and that was enough to stop water from flowing down the Kinder waterfall.

The 80 km/hour gusts created a 'reverse waterfall' and mist that could be seen for kilometres away, according to witnesses.

The winds in the video are thought to be the remnants of Hurricane Gonzalo, which moves past Atlantic Canada over the weekend.

The remnants caused widespread disruptions across the UK.

Strong winds resulted in debris on roadways, and according to the London Ambulance Service,  a woman died when a tree fell on her near Hyde Park Barracks.
