Beach Conditions
The Mannon C. Gore Bridge is the only bridge that connect the main land to the island. This bridge replaced the pontoon swing bridge that was in place from 1958-2010. The old bridge was decommissioned but not demolished. It was saved by the Old Bridge Preservation Society and can now be found surrounded by oak trees across from the Sunset Beach Fire House.Whether you are on main land or the island the town of Sunset Beach asks all visitors and residence to 'leave only your footprints in the sand'. Please stay off the dunes and clean up after yourself!
