This is an high rise building being constructed in Canton China. When I walked by I realized that the scaffolding was made by bundling together lengths of bamboo! This surprised me very much because I could not imagine bamboo scaffolding being adequately strong and stable compared to traditional metal scaffolding. I asked the building manager, "would not this bamboo be in danger of collapsing in the high winds common in this area"? He told me no, and that if anything collapsed it might be the unfinished building but not the bamboo.
