SEE: Giant UFO cloud hovers over Mount Etna

Saturday, June 18, 2016, 4:50 PM - A UFO looking cloud was spotted over Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy on June 14. Some amazing captures show a massive lenticular cloud hovering over the volcano.
"Lenticular clouds typically form over mountains, where moist, stable air is forced to rise up the mountain side. As it crosses the mountain, the air begins to oscillate like a wave, up and down," says Weather Network meteorologist Erin Wenckstern.
"Within the ups (or crests), the air cools enough to condense and forms a cloud. This process can occur multiple times, causing this layered, lens effect that remains fairly stationary."
Since lenticular clouds typically form over mountainous terrain, they are not seen by most and are therefore thought to be rare or even mistaken as a UFO.
Pilots flying aircrafts generally tend to avoid flying near lenticular clouds as this cloud type can cause severe turbulence.
