Puerto Plata is a popular tourist’s alternative to Punta Cana that boasts year round warmth and distinct wet and dry seasons.

During the rainy season (November to May), monthly precipitation totals average 150mm. In the dry season (June to October) rain totals are closer to 75mm.

The area is almost always humid, but a constant light breeze (usually less than 10km/h), and pleasant ocean temperatures (averaging 27°C) offer an opportunity to cool off.
