PHOTOS: First dose of winter hits, with more snow coming to Ontario this week

Winter weather has finally arrived in southern Ontario, with multiple rounds of it to hit this week

It may be a few weeks behind schedule, but winter weather has finally made its way into southern Ontario, bringing snow accumulation, slippery roadways and, in some places, the coldest air of the season so far.

While conditions will gradually improve Wednesday as the day progresses, that is not the end of the active weather in the short term for Ontario. In fact, beyond a weak system Thursday lies an even more potent storm, snowfall-wise, potentially, than this week's Texas low.

Late Friday and into Saturday, another strong, colder system is forecast to bring widespread, heavy snow to the province. This storm will bring widespread strong winds and heavy snow to the Great Lakes region.

Here's a look at Tuesday's snow event in photos.
