Quebec: Winter will continue in some areas, snow coming

Some areas in Quebec have the potential to get another blast of winter this weekend.

The calendar says April, but tell that to Mother Nature, who will bring snow to some areas of Quebec this weekend.

A clipper merging with a stateside storm will head for Quebec for the first part of the weekend, bringing the possibility of wet snow and rain for areas such as Montreal, but for communities in the north and east, snow is what will fall.

SNOW ON THE WAY FOR EASTERN AND NORTHERN QUEBEC

Precipitation is expected to begin early Friday afternoon.

For cities such as Montreal, it may begin as wet snow before transitioning to rain.

Areas in eastern and northern parts of the province will only get snow, which could accumulate to as much as 10 cm in some parts in the north.

"Along the St. Lawrence [River], we will see the temperatures sitting around the zero-degree mark and this will keep the precipitation as possible wet snow for the Friday commute home," said meteorlogist Jaclyn Whittal.
