Ontario, get ready for a sharp cooldown and a chance for snow
Our early taste of summer across southern Ontario will slowly fade as we head into the weekend, with eyes on much cooler conditions and some wintry precipitation through parts of next week
April will live up to its reputation across Ontario as the province plunges from a summer-like spell of warmth right into conditions chilly enough for coats and possibly even snow brushes.
A system pushing into the region to end the weekend will bring widespread rainfall through early next week, followed by a sharp downturn in temperatures that will lead to snow showers in spots.

A fire risk will persist across much of southern Ontario into the day Saturday, a result of several days of bright sun, warm temperatures, and dry air. The risk will wane in a hurry as the next system arrives on Sunday.
A low-pressure system pushing into northern Ontario will drag a cold front across southern Ontario on Sunday, possibly sparking a period of showers and thunderstorms.
By Monday, cooler temperatures, rain, and even the chance for a bit of snow will return to the region.

A Colorado low will move into the province early next week, drawing down with it much colder air from the far north. As the cold air gets wrapped in around the low and sweeps into southern Ontario, rain will transition to mixing and straight snow late day Monday and into Tuesday.
Temperatures will fall quickly later Monday, with daytime highs expected to be in the low single digits on Tuesday -- back to temperatures more typical of late March and early April for a few days.
Snowfall amounts will be minimal to just flurries across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and much of southern Ontario, however the snowbelts and communities along the shores of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay could see snow accumulations of several centimetres.

Temperatures will slowly rebound behind this shot of below seasonal air, but not to the extent of the summer-like weather we've seen this week.
For the end of April and early May we expect changeable weather, with currently no signs of any extended periods of exceptionally warm or cold temperatures.
