Blizzard warning: No unofficial summer kickoff in this part of Canada
One of the only weather alerts in place across Canada on Sunday is for a blizzard, with up to 30 cm of snow possible and blustery winds making for impossible travel.
With the May long weekend reaching the halfway mark in Canada, many folks are getting a taste of summer weather--something that is well deserved after a chilly spring so far.
Meanwhile, portions of Alberta saw snowfall on Saturday. And if you live in parts of Saskatchewan, you're getting wet snow on Sunday. And those regions aren't the only ones in Canada experiencing winter weather.
In fact, it isn't just snow that the northern Quebec village of Quaqtaq has to worry about, it's blizzard conditions, actually. Something much more potent and unpleasant than wet snow.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), an orange-coded blizzard warning is in place for Quaqtaq, Que., with the stormy conditions expected into Sunday evening. Motorists can expect near-zero visibilities in blowing snow.
Snowfall totals near 30 centimetres are expected, as well as strong winds gusting up to 70 km/h, making for hazardous and likely impossible travel due to near-zero visibility.

Fortunately, for Quaqtaq, conditions will improve Sunday night.
Winter weather not finished with Canada, yet
Meanwhile, northern Quebec's shot of wintry weather won't be the finale for Canada.
After Saskatchewan's wintry ride on Sunday, similar conditions will be seen in Manitoba and northwestern Ontario into the new work week, with parts of the Far North and Newfoundland also experiencing chilly temperatures.
