B.C.'s famous golden larches make mountains sparkle in fall
British Columbia has it all, from glaciers to mountains to ocean views.
But did you know it also has one of the highest concentrations of larch trees in the world?
Every fall, Kimberley and Cranbrook, B.C., sparkle with gold as the larches paint the mountains.
Besides being beautiful (and making for the perfect Instagram post backdrop), these trees are interesting in that they are both coniferous trees, meaning they have needles, and deciduous trees, meaning they lose their needles every year.
