
National Guard drops hay for cattle stranded by flood
The Nebraska National Guard volunteer to help farmers and cattle producers in the wake of historic flooding.
The U.S. National Guard has stepped in to help farmers who have been left struggling after historic floods hit parts of Nebraska.
Troops from Grand Island's Bravo Second Company have been using Chinook helicopters to deliver hay to cattle that either can't get to feed because of flood waters or have become separated from their ranchers.

Over the past week the guard has completed five missions, which are being called "hay from heaven".
All the hay has been donated.
Farmers and producers must contact their county emergency management office to qualify for the assistance.
