Description

What: Poor air quality will continue. This is due to an inversion and stagnant air conditions near the surface that will continue to trap pollutants Within the valleys in Douglas County.
Where: Within the valleys of Douglas County.
When: Until 4 AM PST Friday.
Impacts: Poor air quality may cause issues for people with respiratory problems. Most outdoor burning will likely be prohibited as poor ventilation continues.
Additional Details: A strong area of high pressure remains in place. This will lead to poor mixing of the atmosphere and the trapping of pollutants. The high weakens slightly on Sunday and is likely to strengthen again early next week.

Recommended Action

Persons with respiratory illness should follow their physicians advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Use caution when traveling in the morning.
