Description
At 345 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles northeast of Downtown Asheville, or near B.R. Parkway-East Asheville To Craggy Gardens, moving east at 20 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include North Asheville, Black Mountain, Woodfin, Swannanoa, Weaverville, Leicester, Mount Mitchell State Park, B.R. Parkway-East Asheville To Craggy Gardens, B.R. Parkway-Craggy To Little Switzerland, and UNC-Asheville.
Recommended Action
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
