Description
What: Dangerous swimming conditions. Breaking Waves: 2 to 4 feet building to 3 to 5 feet. Longshore current: Expected, moving north to south along the beach. Structural currents: Expected, especially strong on the north sides of piers and breakwalls. Rip currents: Expected
Where: In Indiana, Northern La Porte county. In Michigan, Northern Berrien and Southern Berrien counties.
When: From 11 AM EDT /10 AM CDT/ this morning through this evening.
Impacts: Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water and high waves can sweep people off piers.
Recommended Action
Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions. Do not venture out on piers.
