Yellow Warning - Rainfall
Significant rainfall, combined with melting snow, is expected.
Locations: Southern Avalon, Burin Peninsula, and Connaigre.
Total rainfall: 15 to 30 mm, with locally higher amounts possible.
Time span: overnight tonight until Monday evening.
Remarks: The rain will be preceded by a period of snow this evening before changing through ice pellets and freezing rain to rain overnight as temperatures rise.
Snow and ice accumulations may make travel slow or hazardous. Rain and melting snow can result in pooling of water. Roads and walkways may become slippery and difficult to navigate. Consider adjusting travel plans to avoid the most adverse conditions.
###
Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant impacts are expected due to rainfall amounts.
