Description

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Wisconsin Kickapoo River at Ontario affecting Vernon and Monroe Counties.
What: Minor flooding is occurring.
Where: Kickapoo River at Ontario.
When: Until late tonight.
Impacts: At 18.0 feet, Flooding occurs along the river in the Ontario area. Water may be over Highway P near Bridge 10, and also over Winchell Valley Road at Bridge 8.
Additional Details: - At 12:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 16.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:00 PM CDT Saturday was 19.8 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to fall to 9.3 feet tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 17.0 feet on 03/01/2004. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional river and weather information is available at www.weather.gov/lacrosse.
