Description
At 1106 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Life threatening flash flooding of normally dry washes, slot canyons, creeks, streams and the Escalante River. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include The Escalante River from south of Calf Creek to the terminus at Lake Powell, as well as slot canyons near Hole-in-the-Rock Road including Spencer, Tunnel, The Gulch, Red Breaks, Zebra, and Egypt 2 and 3.
Recommended Action
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
