Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Portions of southwest Oklahoma, including the following counties, Cotton and Tillman and northern Texas, including the following county, Wichita.
When: Until 300 AM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Additional Details: - At 1148 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Burkburnett, Walters, Grandfield, Randlett, Devol, Cookietown and Hulen. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
