Recommended Action
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued Thursday afternoon at 400 PM CDT.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Southeastern Potter County in the panhandle of Texa
S: Central Randall County in the panhandle of Texa
S:
When: Until 415 PM CDT Thursday.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 411 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Amarillo, Canyon, Lake Tanglewood, Mescalero Park and Timbercreek Canyon. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
