S: Neches River Near Alto affecting Houston, Angelina, Anderson and Cherokee Counties. For the Neches Riverincluding AltoMinor flooding is forecast.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Neches River near Alto.
When: From Friday morning to Monday morning.
Impacts: At 16.0 feet, Boat ramps and picnic areas near the river will begin to flood. Ranchers should move cattle and equipment near the river to higher ground.
Additional Details: - At 8:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 4.6 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage Friday morning to a crest of 16.4 feet early Saturday morning. Do not drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 738 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Crockett, Austonio, Trinity and Lovelady. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
