Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Northern Brown County in west central Texa
S: Northeastern Coleman County in west central Texa
S:
When: Until 130 AM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Street flooding in the towns in the Advisory area.
Additional Details: - At 1123 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms moving north across the area with heavy rain. Rainfall amounts of one half to one inch have already occurred, and an additional 1 to 2 inches is expected. This will result in minor flooding, especially in low-lying areas and street flooding in the towns in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Brownwood, Early, Santa Anna, Bangs, Blanket, Grosvenor, Lake Brownwood Near Thrifty, Byrds, Lake Brownwood, Lake Brownwood State Park, Cross Cut, Burkett, May, Thrifty, Owens and Echo. - This includes the following Low Water Crossing

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
